How do ranks work?

Every form check ranks the lift on a seven-tier ladder: Iron → Bronze → Steel → Titanium → Obsidian → Mythic → Apex (divisions III to I inside each tier). The rank comes from your estimated one-rep max (weight × reps), normalized by bodyweight and sex, mapped onto published strength standards — then capped by your form score. Below 50 caps you at Bronze; you need 85+ to reach Mythic and Apex. Same inputs always produce the same rank; there's no XP grinding and no way to buy a tier.

Why is my rank lower than my strength?

Almost always the form gate. If your form score on the qualifying set was under 85, your tier is capped no matter how heavy the lift — that's what keeps ranks meaningful. Open the analysis and check the score: the app shows exactly which gate applied and what to fix. Clear the gate on a new form check and the rank updates immediately.

Form-check filming tips

Full body in frame — head to feet, including the bar path. Front, side, and diagonal angles all work; side-on is most forgiving for squats and deadlifts. Prop your phone against a bottle or bench about 2–4 meters away, decent lighting, and avoid clothing that hides your joints (very baggy layers confuse the tracking). If an analysis fails twice, re-record rather than retrying the same clip.

How do I restore purchases?

Open FormX and go to Profile → Upgrade. Tap "Restore Purchases" and sign in with the Apple ID you used when you originally subscribed. Your Pro access will be reinstated immediately. If it doesn't work, make sure you're on the same Apple ID as the original purchase — subscriptions are tied to your Apple ID, not your FormX account. Founders purchases restore the same way, and your Founder number is permanent — restoring never changes it.

How do I cancel my subscription?

All billing is handled through Apple. To cancel, go to your iPhone Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → FormX → Cancel Subscription. You'll keep Pro access until the current billing period ends. If you have trouble finding it, search "Subscriptions" in Settings. We cannot cancel subscriptions on your behalf — Apple controls all billing.

What are the founders offer terms?

The founders purchase is a one-time (non-renewing) purchase made inside the app while the founders window is open. It includes lifetime Pro access and the numbered Founder cosmetic set (title, frame, ring, banner). Numbers are issued in purchase order and capped at 500; when the window closes or the cap is reached, the offer is gone permanently. The count shown in the app and on this site is the real server-side number. Refunds go through Apple; a refunded purchase releases the entitlement and retires the number.

How do I delete my account and data?

In the app: Profile → Danger Zone → Delete account. It permanently removes your profile, workout history, form checks, nutrition logs, rankings, and all associated data — the app confirms exactly what's deleted before you confirm. If you can't access the app, email formcheckx@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my account" and we'll do it within 7 days and confirm by email.

I can't log in to my account

Check for a typo in your email address first. Then use "Forgot password" on the login screen to receive a reset link — check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive within a few minutes. If you signed up with Apple Sign-In or Google, make sure you're tapping the same button you used originally. Still stuck? Email us at formcheckx@gmail.com.

The camera shows a black screen or won't open

FormX needs camera permission to record your sets. Go to iPhone Settings → FormX → Camera and make sure it's enabled. After granting access, close and reopen the app. If the black screen persists, restart your device.

Snap-Cal isn't working or gives wrong results

For best results: photograph the food on a plain surface with good lighting, include the whole meal in one shot, and avoid blurry images. Snap-Cal uses AI to estimate portions — results are approximate. If a scan is consistently wrong for a specific food, log it manually instead. Free accounts have a weekly scan limit; Pro subscribers get unlimited scans.

How do I report a bug?

Email formcheckx@gmail.com with the subject "Bug Report." Include: your device model, your iOS version, the exact steps to reproduce the issue, and screenshots or a screen recording if possible. The more detail you include, the faster we can investigate.

Reporting a Bug

When emailing a bug report, include as much of the following as you can:

  • Device model (e.g. iPhone 15 Pro)
  • iOS version (Settings → General → About → iOS Version)
  • Exact steps to reproduce the issue
  • What you expected to happen vs. what actually happened
  • Screenshots or screen recording if possible
