Privacy Policy
This policy applies to the FormX mobile app (iOS and Android) and our websites.
What we collect
When you create an account, we collect your email address and, optionally, your display name. During workouts, we collect the exercises, sets, weights, reps, and session timestamps you log. When you use the nutrition feature, we store the meals, calorie targets, and macro data you enter. When you use Snap-Cal (AI meal scanning), the photo is sent to OpenAI's API for ingredient and calorie estimation and is not stored by us after processing. When you record a set for form analysis, your video is processed on your device — we never upload or store your raw footage. To generate your form score, your device sends joint-angle measurements and a small number of still frames from your set to our servers for AI analysis; these are used only to produce your result and are not retained after processing. If you use community features, we also store the profile you create (username, avatar, bio), your posts and any photos or videos you attach to them, comments, likes, friend connections, and direct messages. If you try FormX before creating an account, we create a temporary anonymous session to hold your demo result until you sign up or it is discarded.
How we use your data
Your data is used solely to deliver the FormX service: storing your workout history, generating form feedback, coaching via Frank (our AI coach), tracking your nutrition, and showing your progress over time. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose other than operating the app.
Video and pose data
Video from your camera is processed locally on your device using MediaPipe pose detection — your raw form-check footage is never uploaded or stored by us. What leaves your device for analysis is: joint-angle measurements (e.g. "knee angle: 92°, hip angle: 78°") and a few downscaled still frames from your set, which are sent securely to OpenAI's API to generate your form score and coaching cues. Frames are used only for that analysis and are not retained after processing. This is separate from community posts: if you deliberately attach a photo or video to a post, that media is uploaded to our storage, screened by automated moderation before public display, and shown according to the visibility you choose.
AI features
FormX uses OpenAI's API for form analysis, AI coaching (Frank), meal photo recognition (Snap-Cal), and program generation. When you interact with these features, relevant session data — such as form scores, workout history, nutrition summaries, or meal photos — is sent to OpenAI for processing. This data is transmitted securely and used only to generate responses within the app. We do not use your data to train AI models.
Community features
Posts you share are visible according to the visibility you choose (private, friends, or public). Public posts may appear in the Discover feed for other users. Photos and videos attached to posts pass automated moderation before public display. You can block users, report content, and delete your own posts at any time. Direct messages are stored so they can be delivered between you and your friend and are not used for any other purpose. Posts by FormX staff carry a "FormX Dev" label so you always know when it's us.
Subscriptions and billing
FormX Pro subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), depending on your device. We do not collect or store your payment card details. Purchase status is verified via RevenueCat, which receives a record of your purchase from the store to confirm your active entitlements. RevenueCat does not receive your full name, email address, or financial information.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate FormX: Supabase (authentication and database hosting on AWS), OpenAI (AI analysis, coaching, and nutrition), RevenueCat (subscription verification), and Expo/EAS (app distribution). Each provider has its own privacy policy. We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
Data storage and security
Your account data and workout history are stored securely using Supabase, hosted on AWS infrastructure. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is restricted to authenticated requests from your own account. We do not retain Snap-Cal photos after processing.
Data retention
We retain your account and workout data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data — including workout history, nutrition logs, form scores, and coaching history — is permanently deleted within 7 days.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request full account deletion at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below.
Children
FormX is not directed at children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 16. If you believe a user under 16 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by email or by a notice in the app before the changes take effect. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated.
